They actually took the RPG mechanics and developed them further. A familiar style?Īssassin's Creed Valhalla features a gameplay style similar to that of AC Odyssey, and many of the controls and mechanics are still the same. Not only thanks to the incredible visuals but also with the design and general direction. From the start of the game, it's clear that they've put a lot of effort into the artistic elements of this game. It's set in East Anglia in the IX century, and we play as Eivor, a Viking warrior during the Viking wars. We won't be getting much into the plot of the game since it isn't even out yet, but we can talk a bit about its setting. So it's only natural that while it wasn't a surprise to have an Assassin's Creed with nordic and Viking themes, it had an incredible reception at the announcement.
